The Department of Facilities Management (DFM) staff is committed to and has expertise and special knowledge in maintaining buildings and facilities to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for school department employees, students and the general public.
The DFM, better known as the maintenance department, provides technical assistance for a variety of complex projects, including structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems, grounds and athletic fields maintenance; in addition to space planning, design, and project coordination. Plans and specifications are developed to address departmental and student needs; comply with codes and regulations; acquire equipment and materials; and guide construction.

We continuously perform routine inspections of school department buildings, grounds, and utilities to identify and initiate correcting safety, structural, and maintenance deficiencies. Work Orders are initiated in-house for needed repairs in order to ensure a safe and supportive environment for the Gorham School Department and members of the community.
