This link to the Gorham School Department website has been created to provide the Gorham School Community and the citizens of Gorham with pertinent, accurate information concerning the construction of the new elementary school. The target date for the opening of this new school is September 2011. The school will be a K-5 grade configuration with an enrollment of approximately 550 students. Coinciding with the opening of the new school, Narragansett, presently a K-2 school and Village, currently a 3-5 school, will each become a K-5 school. This will enable students to spend up to six years in their elementary school and it will facilitate the vertical and horizontal coordination of all District elementary school programs and services. Please check this website link periodically for updates on the work of the New Elementary School Building Committee and attendant information concerning the construction of the school. Information will also appear periodically in the Gorham Times, as well as other news media outlets. The New Elementary School Building Committee schedule of meetings for 2008-2009 is as follows. Meetings are held in the Conference Room adjacent to the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, located on the second floor of the Municipal Center. The public is most welcome to attend these meetings. Meetings begin @ 6:00pm and generally conclude no later than 8:30pm. | New Elementary School Building Committee Meeting Dates |
