Three K-5 Elementary Schools

Re: Administrator Assignments, 3 K-5 Schools
It is my privilege to announce that effective July 1, 2011, the following school administrator assignments will be in effect. Please note that some school administrators will remain in their current position, while others are being transferred to a new position and/or school.
- New Elementary School *(projected enrollment 475-500)
- Principal, Jane Esty, (currently AP @ Village)
- Assistant Principal, Polly Brann, (currently AP @ Narragansett & White Rock))
- Village School *(projected enrollment 425-450)
- Principal, Brian Porter, (currently Principal @ Village)
- Assistant Principal, Jodi Lemieux, (currently teaching @ Village)
- Narragansett School *(projected enrollment 275-300)
- Principal, Brad Smith, (currently Principal @ Narragansett & White Rock)
- Assistant Principal, Given that Narragansett's student enrollment will be in the range of 275-300 students, we will determine at a later date whether there will be a part time or full time Assistant Principal at that school. Once that decision is finalized the individual appointed to that position will be announced.
Please join the Administration and the School Committee in congratulating each of these
dedicated and talented professionals on his/her assignment, effective July 1, 2011.
- Note: Once the respective attendance zone for each of the three new K-5 school configurations are established in 2010-2011 for the opening of the these schools as of September 2011, the definitive enrollment numbers for each school will be determined, as will the bus routes that will transport K-5 students to each school. The projected total K-5 enrollment as of school year 2011-2012 is in the range of 1175-1200.
- Note: Administrator assignments are subject to change should a vacancy occur prior to September 2011.
