Curriculum & Assessment Council
Coordinator: Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate & facilitate Curriculum & Assessment development, review, monitoring, and modification for the designated content area (includes the review year in the cycle and the off years within the cycle).
- Establish the committee for said content area. Each content area committee will include the Coordinator and three representatives each from K-5, 6-8, & 9-12. One of these representatives should be a Special Instructional Services educator and one should be a Specialist (ex: literacy or math) when applicable.
- Establish the date, time, location and the agenda for each meeting, assure that minutes of each meeting are taken and shared with the members of that committee, with the Superintendent, and with interested and appropriate parties.
- The Office and repository for all curriculum and assessment work, resources, and information will be retained (located on the second floor of the Municipal Center, adjacent to the Office of the Superintendent). The Coordinator will maintain (current, updated) all files and records for said content area work at that location.
- Participate, engage, and contribute to the work of the Curriculum and Assessment Council and work to assure congruence of protocols, templates, expectations, and outcomes of all content areas, K-12.
- Work in concert with the Superintendent and the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent to assure continuity of purpose and practice of curriculum and assessment, K-12.
- The Coordinator will be the point person with internal and external groups, organizations, agencies, and firms for said content area.
- The Coordinator will work in concert with those individuals who have administrative responsibilities for Professional Development (including summer instructional workshop proposals) to establish core and attendant programs and initiatives required to advance instruction and associated delivery models for said content area.
- Work with the Administrative Cabinet, the Administrative Liaison(s) for Assessment and for Technology to assure congruence with content, instruction, student assessment, and data analysis.
- Work with the content area staff and with the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and the Business Office Manager to provide administrative oversight for the review, selection, and completion of purchase orders of content area texts and other resource materials.
