Title One
Intensive Literacy Lab at Village School
|
Students at Village School have multiple entry points into learning. For some students, reading and writing are so difficult that they cannot access their education. For many of these students, differentiation in the classroom supports them appropriately, but for others much more intensive intervention is needed. To accommodate these students and their literacy needs, we have initiated a model of support called the Intensive Literacy Lab. Students who attend this lab for support receive up to 90 minutes a day of remedial small group instruction with the intention of getting them closer to meeting grade level standards by yearís end. Students are chosen based on a variety of assessments given in the fall and are screened numerous times throughout the year.
