The Gorham School Department has the following positions available:

 

Instructional Technology Specialist (HS)

The successful candidate should possess the following:

 

  • Ability to collaborate with teachers to support their use of technology in delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional methods.
  • Ability to provide teachers the support they need to modify their instruction, and tap into the potential of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Ability to create learning resources for teachers, staff and students. These may include Web sites, tutorials, interactive programs and databases that support teachers in integrating technology.
  • Ability to participate in the selection of appropriate technological resources to augment class content.
  • Ability to train teachers to use technology and software effectively.
  • Ability to assist students with technology-related activities or projects.
  • Ability to support administration with various school-wide projects.
  • Strong skills with social media.
 

Social Worker (4-8)

The successful candidate must hold a State of Maine LCSW license. In addition, an Alcohol and Drug Counselor license is preferred.

 

Special Education Teacher

The District is in need of an experienced special educator to be part of a collaborative team in support of the district's mission to empower students with the academic, personal, and social skills needed to be prepared for successful adult life. This position includes consultation with staff and direct instruction with middle school and high school students. Must hold Maine certification (282) for grades 7-12. Successful experience teaching teenage students with multiple exceptionalities is preferred, as well as strong organizational abilities.

 

Administrative Assistant

We have an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special. The successful candidate must be able to work in a confidential setting, possess effective communication/interpersonal skills and be proficient in the use of technology – including basic operating systems, internet, databases and financial software and be able to work independently. Experience in special education or schools is a plus. This is a full year position.

Appropriate State of Maine certification and HQT status required; experience preferred. The successful candidate must possess:

  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and assessment,
  • A capacity to utilize technology to enhance instruction,
  • Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom.

Special Education Ed Tech III’s

Gorham is seeking ed tech III’s to work with our K-12 special education students. Candidates must be able to work with students with a range of disabilities, including significant cognitive, developmental and behavioral disabilities. Must be skilled in providing instruction in different content areas. Ed tech III authorization required.
