Midterm Exams are just around the corner! Please review these important policies and schedules to ensure you are ready for the end of the semester.

Key Exam Week Information for Students and Families

  • Attendance: Students only need to be at GHS when they have a scheduled exam. If a student is at GHS and does not have an exam, they must report to the cafeteria or library to study.

  • Make-Up Exams: Make-up sessions are available only for students with excused absences through administration.

  • Textbook Returns: Students must return assigned textbooks, or pay for lost/damaged books, before taking their final exam.

  • Lunches: Bag lunches will be provided to any student who would like one.

  • CTE Students: Students should attend their programs at WRVC or PATHS unless they have an exam at GHS. Transportation to CTE will continue at regular times.

  • Bus Transportation: Limited buses will pick up students at GHS at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM during exam week. Full transportation will be available at 2:10 PM, and activity buses will run on Tuesday and Thursday at 4:10 PM.

🌙 Learning About Holidays in School

As we move into a season with many different cultural and religious celebrations, our district shared updated reminders about how we approach holiday learning:

  • Schools may teach about religion but may not promote or discourage any religious belief

  • Learning should emphasize diversity, inclusion, and understanding

  • Holidays occur throughout the year—not just in December—and we aim for a consistent, respectful approach

🩺 OTC Medication Permission Form (Important for Families)

If your student may need Tylenol, ibuprofen, or Tums during the school day, families must complete the district’s Over-the-Counter Medication Permission Form. This form must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to the GHS Health Office before the school nurse can administer any OTC medication.

Please note that students are not allowed to carry over-the-counter medications with them at school. This rule helps ensure everyone’s safety by:

  • Preventing misuse or accidental overdose

  • Ensuring proper dosing based on age and weight

  • Protecting students with allergies or medical conditions

  • Making sure medications are stored securely and administered by trained staff

Once the permission form is on file, the school nurse can administer medication as needed.

To download the permission form, visit the Forms section of our website or click here:
