Elementary Teacher

 The Gorham School Department has opening for a Grade 2 classroom teacher. Appropriate State of Maine certification required. The successful candidate should possess the following:

 

  • Experience as a K-3 Elementary Teacher preferred;
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practice;
  • Strong behavior management and conflict resolution abilities;
  • Skilled in communicating with staff, students, and parents;
  • Knowledge of early literacy and math instruction, formative and summative assessment;
  • Familiarity with the RTI process;
  • Understanding of Proficiency Based Learning;
  • Demonstrates proficiency in integrating technology within classroom instruction;
  • Desire to participate in the school community outside of the classroom.

Set Builder/Technical Director: Fall Play and One Act Play

 

The person in this position will collaborate with the Artistic Director on all technical aspects of GHS' Fall Show and One Act play. Of primary importance is the ability to design and build theater sets, and to recruit and coordinate volunteer builders. This person will also work with the director to envision and implement sound and light design; to collaboratively envision and supervise scenic painting with student artists; and to aid in coordinating and creating props and costumes as necessary. This person would ideally have a strong commitment to teaching and coaching students who are interested in the above aspects of each production.

Gifted & Talented Teacher

 

The Gorham School Department has an immediate need for a GT teacher with a focus on providing support to students at the middle and high school level. Responsibilities would include planning and implementing GT curricula, collaborating with district coordinator, and working closely with teachers to promote an understanding of the conditions to support the social, emotional, and intellectual growth of gifted learners. MDOE certification #690 required.
