Day one of Career X Math 2025 is underway and has been an amazing success! Each math teacher invited members of the community to their classrooms to share the relevance of mathematics to their respective and exciting professions. Today students who have math period 5 thru 8 are learning about compound interest and growing their money, how to chart and navigate the waters of Casco Bay, solving the mechanical engineering dilemmas of building an NBA stadium that doubles as an NHL arena, running the numbers on real estate, investigating accident reconstruction techniques, digging into sustainable agriculture, and examining what goes into the making, marketing and margins of Converse sneakers. Our amazing presenters are back again tomorrow to share with math students in periods 1 thru 4. THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS!

Thank you to Zachary Glanville, Store Manager at Hannaford in Gorham for being willing to work with Christine Karcanes, a Kindergarten Teacher at Narragansett Elementary School to create a letter hunt for families to do with their young children while shopping at Hannaford in Gorham. The sheets are found at the dietitian’s station in the front of the store. When students fill in the sheet, they can bring it to the customer service area for a sticker! What a fun, educational activity that promotes literacy skills for our little learners while they shop at Hannaford!
